The WSOP $5k Ante Up For Africa charity tournament attracted 84 players from poker professionals to top athletes and movie stars to the tables.

“Beauty and the Beast”

Phil Gordon won the tournament and $130,641 dollars. He donated the whole sum back to charity - just like last year when he worked his way to the final table of the same tournament. In heads-up Gordon beat Shannon Elizabeth who recently signed a professional deal with CarbonPoker.

After his victory Gordon told to Pokernews that even though the tournament was not about winning a bracelet, it feels like that. Elizabeth shared Gordon’s view and hoped that her earlier WSOP tournaments would have worked out in the same way.

The final results:

1 Phil Gordon   $130,641
2 Shannon Elizabeth   $80,737
3 Alex Filatov   $56,516
4 Carter Phillips   $41,166
5 Erik Seidel   $30,287
6 Jerome Bettis   $22,624
7 Barry Hartheimer   $18,146
8 Kyle Carlston   $15,125
9 Claire Renaut   $12,998
