The WSOP Event #50 ($5,000 PLO) finished a while ago in Chance Kornuth’s victory celebration. Besides the bracelet this championship brought Kornuth a prize money of $508,090 dollars. Kevin Boudreau, who was defeated in heads-up, cashed $313,792 from his second place.
The heads-up between these two Americans was very tight for a long time. But eventually their even chip situation changed as both players hit the straight - Kornuth just a bit better.
The final solution came a couple of deals later when Kornuth, in clear chiplead, raised all-in on the flop 2h-8c-Jd and got called from Boudreau:
Kornuth: 6h-Qc-8h-9d
Boudreau: Kc-Kh-4s-As
The turn and the river were 8s-3c, so Kornuth could start celebrating after having pulled over Boudreau’s overpair.
The prize pool ($):
1. Chance Kornuth 508,090
