The first bracelet of the WSOP 2010 has been awarded to Vietnamese-born casino dealer Hoai Pham from San Diego. Pham won the €500 buy-in event, Casino Employees Championship.
Pham profited over 71,000 dollars from his victory. Arthur Vea, whom Pham squashed in heads-up, collected over 44,000 dollars from his efforts.
Their heads-up lasted about 15 minutes, and in the last deal the overpowering chipleader Pham received Ac-Ad. Pham went straight all-in on the flop with Qh-7d-2c and after a small reflection pause Vea ended up to call with 4s-4c in hand. But 5d and 6c on the turn didn’t bring any help for him which marked the beginning of Pham’s victory celebration.
In the middle of his flush of victory Pham commented: “I feel very good. I am very, very happy.”
Officially the final table lasted nearly for five hours.
Altogether 721 players attended the tournament. The total prize pool consisted of $324,450 dollars and the prize money was awarded to 72 best players.
The final prize pool:
1. Hoai Pham $71.424
2. Arthur Vea $44.079
3. Christopher Reider $28.655
4. Matthew Hollinger $21.047
5. Patrick Silvey $15.677
