As a traditional part of the WSOP, the Ante Up for Africa charity tournament will attract celebs to the poker tables again.

“Affleck and Damon - a familiar sight in the WSOP.”
The tournament - a part of the WSOP since 2006 - shall be played on the 3rd of June, and for example Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ray Romano and Brad Garrett have already confirmed their participation. The buy-in of this WSOP tournament is $5,000. Last year the winner of the first prize ($176,000) was Alex Bolotin.
According to Harrah’s, the Nevada state laws prevent directing the tournament profits straight to charity. Because of this most players will donate themselves half of their tournaments winnings for solving the Darfur humanitary crisis.
Besides movie and TV stars there will be a legion of top poker professionals in the tournament. Currently at least the following top names are in: Annie Duke, Howard Lederer, Erik Seidel, Phil Gordon, Andy Bloch, Chris Ferguson and Phil Hellmuth.
