Later this week, beginning on 22nd of May, Aria Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will arrange a million-dollar VIP tournament. The purpose of this tournament is to celebrate the brand new high stakes room called “The Ivey Room”.
This high stakes room is named after Phil Ivey, and apparently Ivey has signed a deal with the casino which means he will play there on a regular basis.
The winner of this opening tournament will receive 250,000 dollars. Besides this he/she gets to play heads-up for another 250,000 dollars against Ivey himself. Shall Ivey be beaten, his winner will also get a 100,000 dollar bounty.
The opening ceremony is suitably just before the WSOP starts, and we’ll see whether “The Ivey Room” will replace the famous Bobby’s Room in this context.
