In May 19th, the World Team Poker starts in Golden Nugget, Las Vegas, and now all the teams have their final lineup. Australia was among the last ones to announce their players.

Jeffrey “The Iceman” Lisandro

Australia’s team leaders are the last year’s WSOP “Player of the Year” winner Jeff Lisandro and the trash talking, smooth behaving, bike riding Antanas “Tony G” Guoga. In total, these two poker veterans have over $8 million in live tournament earnings.

The Aussie team is a mixture of old poker veterans and new, aggressive player generation. The veteran section is represented by Billy “The Croc” Argyros, Gary Benson, Mel Judah and Marsha Waggoner. All of them began to play poker in early eighties. Benson is the first Australian WSOP bracelet winner, Judah won two bracelets in 1989 and Waggoner has been in inducted into Poker Hall of Fame.

The new generation in Aussie team represents Grant Levy, David “Superman” Saab and Stephen Topakas. Levy has won about $1,2 million from live tournaments, Saab won the Asian Poker Tour Manila’s $2,500 event and Topakas has made steady results in Australian poker tournaments since 2007.

Australia has a really good team, so their success wouldn’t come as a surprise.
