Dwan had a rough start for the year when he dug himself into a deep hole after losing $3.2 million in January. It took him about 5 months to fight back from the red, but this fall disaster stroke again when he lost huge amounts of money to then new online face Isildur1.

The man they call “durrrr” was about break even for the year before November, but after losing $6.3 million in the month he is for sure going to end the year in a losing note. November was such a disaster month for Dwan that he has had to drop down to lower stakes lately.
Dwan hasn’t started to doubt his game and he thinks he is just experiencing a downswing, something that is normal for every poker player at some point in their career.
“It hasn’t been the best year,” Dwan comments about his games online. “But if anyone doesn’t think that it’s a downswing then they are welcome to cross book me in any game I play in. That’s all I have to say.”
Dwan didn’t play many live tournaments in 2009, but after joining the Team Full Tilt he is going to play more tournaments next year.
“I’m going to play a few more because of Full Tilt,” he explained. “I kind of wanted to play a few more tournaments anyway and Full Tilt’s a good reason to do so. So I’m probably going to be playing a bunch of them.”
Dwan, who is currently playing the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio, is used to winning six-figures in single pots online, so grinding live tournaments for same amounts of money could be boring without side bets.
Even though Dwan is going to play more live tournaments in the future he is not going to stop playing cash games online, because he feels the cash games are still the best way for him to win money, even after such a rough year online.
