Betrand `Elky` Grospellier returned from Las Vegas where he ended in 3rd place at the WPT World Championship. When he went to Monte Carlo to play in the EPT Grand Final, he beat the World Record for playing Sit and Go´s, with a grand total of 62 $6,50 SnG´ s after playing in day 1a of the tournament.

He played on 4 PC screens, which were also streamed to a room where a large crowd was excited to see if he would beat the world record. For that, he needed to make a profit, no matter how small; this proved tricky until the last table, at which he fortunately managed to win, making up a total profit of $24,67 for ElkY.
ElkY after beating the old record: “I’m tired, actually. It was pretty exhausting because I was really not prepared. I arrived from Las Vegas yesterday and expected to have a little more time to prepare.”
He began the session with high hopes, starting 40 SnG´s simultaneously, but he was soon unable to keep up with the killing pace: “It was out of control,” said ElkY. “Shorthanded play went so fast and I was sitting out a lot, but at the end I managed to regain momentum and got better.”
Hevad Khan, another professional player and a known respected multitabler , commented on ElkY´s world record attempt afterwards and said he was impressed with the skill Betrand had shown by saying “I’m impressed, because there are two difficulties in what he was trying to do. It’s very hard to play 62 tables and turn a profit, and it’s also very hard to play that many tables without starting smaller and working your way up.”
Congratulations to ElkY!
