Both of the guys were sponsored by PokerStars when playing in the Main Event so it was just a matter of time when they would join the team. It took somewhat long until they were signed as the team member.
It was anticipated that PokerStars would’ve signed at least the world champion Eastgate sooner after winning the title in November 2008. It took about half a year, but finally both of them are part of the pro team.

Now that is a big pile of cash!
Eastgate, who will be using the screen name “PeteEastgate” from now on, became the youngest world champion ever when he beat the guy who was the early favorite to win the big show in Demidov. Eastgate showed his skills again when he beat everybody in a side event at PCA for almost $350k in January 2009.
Demidov broke some records as well last year, when he reached the final tables both in the WSOP Main Event and in the Main Event of the European version of the series in London. He also managed well in both, finishing third in WSOPE. In the future, Demidov will be playing as “Ivan Demidov” on PokerStars.
Last year was the breakthrough year for both of these European superstars. Actually, not many knew much about the pair before the Main Event. The success in WSOP have catapulted both to the biggest games in poker and even to the High Stakes Poker television show.
