Kathy Liebert searching for a WPT title, reaches sixth final table

Liebert, who has more than $5 million in career tournament earnings, is the lone remaining shooting star still in the competition, who all had $5k bounty on their heads. She is also trying to become first shooting star ever who have won the tournament.

Liebert is a shooting star who just won’t fall.

If you look the opposition who Liebert is against, WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament in San Jose, California, looks like a perfect spot for her to finally conquer the WPT title that has been eluding her:

2. Thao Le - 711,000
3. Steve Brecher - 2,016,000
4. Tony Behari - 2,046,000
5. Kathy Liebert - 1,180,000
6. Chau Vu - 352,000

Liebert is by far most famous of six finalists. Only Steve Brecher has previously been in a WPT final table, once. Compared to previous WPT events this season, this final table is maybe the easiest one. Of course anything can happen in poker. Still, Liebert is confident that she can pull this one off:

“I’ve been playing pretty well,” she said. “You always have to get a little lucky, but I feel good about my chances. It’s far better than one out of six.”
