Huck Seed is the lone player who has finished in the money every time in the five-year history of NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship. He has been twice in both the quarterfinals and the semifinals, but he only needed one try to conquer the title once he reached the final this year!

Huck Seed added another championship in his resume.
Seed met Team PokerStars‘ swimsuit model Vanessa Rousso in the best-of-three finals. The finals were quite one-sided affair, as Seed dominated both final matches to win the $500,000 first place prize. Rousso received $250,000 second place prize for her efforts.
On the road to the championship Seed finished Jonathan Little, Gus Hansen, Glen Chorny, David Oppenheim, who was included in the tournament participant list as a last minute replacement of Layne Flack, and Sammy Farha. Seed’s semifinal battle against Farha was a classic example of Heads-Up action at its best! Seed finally edged Farha after a two-and-a-half hours back and forth battle.
Rousso made also quite impressive ride to the finals as her opposition was not the easiest one. Rousso faced Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, 2007 National Heads-Up Champion Paul Wasicka, Daniel Negreanu and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier and dispatched them all.
One of the most interesting matches was a re-match between Phil Hellmuth and Tom Dwan. Last year Dwan cracked Hellmuth’s aces with his tens and had to face heated words from “the PokerBrat”. This time Hellmuth got his revenge, but his joy was brief as he lost his quarterfinal match against Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier in only five hands!
The payouts of final eight:
1. $ 500,000 Huck Seed
2. $ 250,000 Vanessa Rousso
3. $ 125,000 Sam Farha
4. $ 125,000 Bertrand Grospellier
5. $ 75,000 Daniel Negreanu
6. $ 75,000 Phil Hellmuth
7. $ 75,000 David Oppenheim
8. $ 75,000 David Williams
