Phill Helmuth wins even with worse hand!

PHILHELLMUTH played a limit hold’em heads-up match against a nickname called DOUBLEBALLER when something really odd happened. Hellmuth mucked the hand after DOUBLEBALLER showed him better hand, but the pot was still shipped to Hellmuth:

The incident has lifted up the superuser scandal once again and obviously brings some additional bad reputation to the site, when the poster boy of the organisation is connected to an incident like this.

The DOUBLEBALLER appears to be a 2+2 forum user called DaBuce who posted this to the thread concerning this case:

Ok….so the lady just apoligized to me like 100 times, and said she can only credit me $2300 right now, and will credit the rest in a few hours. I just checked, and its in there. This whole thing is so strange.

btw the hand history number is 1162170993. I just watched the hand on table ratings replayer, and in the river, it shows my cards, does not flip his cards over….then says winner above his name and ships him the pot.

During the game i was so confused as to what happened. Im not sure exactly at point point it happened (before, during, or after the hand) but i had a pop up come up saying that i missed three blinds in a row (we are playing heads up wtf!?!?) it rebought me back into the table with some odd amount.

I was playing another heads up game at the same time, so wasnt paying complete attention. You can see in the chat, I kept asking phil how much he was in for, and i knew it was wrong. I asked him who won that hand, and he said i did….yet i didnt have the chips.

So ****ing weird.

The 2+2 thread has 30+ pages of discussion about the case. There is also some discussion at the Ultimate Bet blog about this issue. Hopefully Hellmuth will reveal his side of the story soon at his website. I’m interested to hear how highly he still thinks about the software after this incident!
