Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy and Ultimate Bet part ways.

Josephy (pictured) posted yesterday this message to the 2+2 forum that he has left Ultimate Bet:
Just wanted you guys to know that you will no longer see me as a redlined pro in their lobbies, nor will you see me wearing their patches at live events any more.
That is all for now,
Bax

A 2+2 member called “sheetsworld”, who apparently is a friend of Jospehy’s, gave some information why Josephy ended the cooperation with UB. This first explanation seems like a no brainer and really looks like a joke:
From what I have heard through the rumor mill, he discovered that there was an internal security breach which allowed certain players to see hole cards and that people who were insiders at the company exploited that to steal money from people. He apparently threatened to expose them but apparently there is going to be a tv show which details this anyway, so UB fired him. Their official reason was that they did not want to sponsor someone who flat calls TTwith 15bbs, but I think that is a coverup.

After a while, “sheetsworld” came up with a better and more revealing explanation that seems like the true reason of the separation:
Ok Bax gave me permission……….
The reason why Bax is no longer a UB pro is simply because UB renegged on its deal with him. I was there for the phone conversation and can attest that this is the case. They called him and openly renegged on their agreement without explanation and should be ashamed for doing so imo.
That is all.

These news will not do any good for the already tarnished reputation of Ultimate Bet. Signing Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy was in a first place an effort to polish the reputation, but now after he resigns only after six months, it seems like there is still something terribly wrong inside the Ultimate Bet.
