In summer 2007, Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis was able to participate in WSOP for first time, as he turned 21 just before the series started. It didn’t took long for him to find a winning strategy, when he took down the first tournament of the 2007 series to become the youngest bracelet winner in the history of WSOP, only 11 days after his 21st birthday!

Although his record was later broken by Annette Obrestad, who won the WSOPE 2007 Main Event a day before her 19th birthday, but it is not same because WSOPE has lower age limit in 18 years. I’m quite sure that the record of Billirakis in USA will last for a long time.
Last week Billirakis wrote new chapter in the record books, when he won a WSOP Circuit Event at his hometown casino of the Horseshoe Hammond. With a win, Billirakis became the youngest winner in a WSOP Circuit Event!
Of course MrSmokey1 has had a lots of success in online poker too, like most of the young players today. Still, Billirakis is a rare player who have mixed online success with being succesful in live tournaments too and maybe he will break some other “the youngest”-records in the future!
With a live tournament winnings of over $1.2M in his young career, combined with almost $1.3M in online tournament winnings and surely much more from the cash games, Billirakis will be a force in the poker world in the future, especially in tournaments.
