Full Tilt Poker hasn’t made the official announcement yet, but a particular sign unveils that there is something going on: Full Tilt asked a guy who holds an account with nickname “Tom Dwan” to select three substitutive nicknames as his current nickname is to be changed!
This is exactly the same situation what happened when Brian Townsend became a red pro. “Brian Townsend” also received some kind of compensation for releasing his name, so maybe “Tom Dwan” will also receive some kind of benefit. Rumors say that “Brian Townsend” got some money from Full Tilt Poker and a lifetime membership to Cardrunners.
The suggestions what new nickname “Tom Dwan” should ask are also widely discussed at 2+2 forum. Names like “durrrr”, “Twan Dom” or “Dwan Tom” are suggested, but maybe the best suggestion is “Howard Lederer”! Atleast then we could see player called “Howard Lederer” playing at Full Tilt Poker even occasionally!
Now, the bizarre thing is that Tom Dwan, who is 2+2 regular, posted that he doesn’t now anything about him signing with Full Tilt Poker anytime soon. Maybe he has been instructed to remain silent about the signing until it is finalized or Full Tilt Poker is just making preparations for future signing without Dwan knowing anything about it.
Anyhow, something is going on and it wouldn’t be suprise if Full Tilt Poker would soon announce Dwan joining the team and replacing another high volume high stakes regular in David Benyamine. Hopefully the avatar of Dwan has this lovely red hat on!
