Many people didn’t like the idea of delaying the final table and definitely some people like the idea now after the event is done and closed. Still, the ratings show that the November Nine drew people looking the WSOP broadcasts from tv signicantly more than last year.

The numbers show that 2.4 million people watched this years final table, resulting in a Nielsen rating of 1.9. Last Year the rating of the final table was 1.38, so the numbers have gone up over 35%! With the ratings this high, it is somewhat clear that next year the final table will be played again in November.

Ratings increased steadily as the tournament progressed. The episode aired on October 21st scored a rating of 1.44. Next weeks episode scored little better in 1.59. Both of these episodes scored a better ranking than the final table last year, in which Jerry Yang was crowned a champion.

After all, it seems like Harrah’s made a correct decision when they moved the final table to November. People are more interested in finalists, when they know something about the players they are watching.

In recent years, the final table has been full of amateur players that nobody knews and that might have lowered the ratings. Nobody knew much about this years finalists either, but after heavy promoting during the break, they all became familiar to casual spectators and that might have raised the ratings.
