Mike Matusow, who usually is very keen to moan about his omnipresent bad luck at poker tables, had a very different experience this time around! He started the day with only 77,000 chips, but ended it with a huge stack of 1,076,000, almost million chips more!

The good luck of Matusow was so evident that even he managed to notice it! Seeing Matusow as being the favorite of Lady Fortuna was clearly too much for Arthur Azen, after Matusow cracked his aces with set of tens in a huge 990,000 chip pot and soon after that took down a nice pot with the pocket kings. As Mike raked in a nice preflop pot, he was heard saying quietly to himself “Amazing card rush day I will never forget.” to which Azen offered an uninvited reply of “Alright Mikey, shut the F**K up! That’s enough already!”

Still, after the day 3 it is Jonathan Jaffe who is in the lead, but he will face a stiff competition against players like Phil Ivey, Matusow, Gavin Smith and Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little.

Here is what top 10 look like after three days of action:

  1. Jonathan Jaffe 1,100,000
  2. Mike Matusow 1,076,000
  3. Tom Nguyen 870,000
  4. Carl Restifo 720,000
  5. Ronald Kirsh 681,000
  6. Charles Marchese 626,500
  7. Patrick Kelley 571,000
  8. Dimitri Haskaris 522,000
  9. Larry Greenberg 519,000
  10. Jonathan Little 477,000

The tournament will continue today at 12pm ET as the final 33 players will return to play five levels, or until nine players are left, which one comes first. Tournament updates can be found from the website of WPT.
