Italian Mauro Corsetti started the day 2 as a chip leader, following by the WSOPE winner Annette Obrestad. At the end of the day, Corsetti still remain in the competion although not in top ten, but Obrestad was one of the casualties of the day. Here is what the top ten look like after day 2:
1. Albert Iversen - 442,500
2. Martin Jacobson - 365,000
3. Ciprian Hrisca - 280,000
4. Casey Kastle - 264,500
5. William Fry - 257,000
6. Lukas Benkovic - 224,000
7. Pasquale Braco - 208,500
8. Marino Serenelli - 195,500
9. Zoltan Toth - 175,000
10. Ofir Abramovivi - 163,000
Many well known pros busted out during the day 2, including fellow Team PokerStars members William Thorson and Luca Pagano, Sorel Mizzi, Chris Moorman and many others. Only few famous players still remain in the competition, including Johnny Lodden and Aleksander Kravtshenko, also sponsored by PokerStars.
The way how the tournament ended for Chris Moorman was particularly cruel. Holding pair of aces, without a heart, on the flop Q-8-8 with two hearts, Moorman and Benjamin Lebor got all of their chips in, Lebor holding pair of jacks with the jack of heart. Moorman was about 86%/14% favorite to win the pot with his aces, but Lebor found his lucky cards in two running hearts and Moorman was out of the tournament.
Today the tournament is supposed to continue until the final table is set. Live reporting of the Pokernews will follow the tournament action. Albert Iversen (picture) and others will start the action today at 1 PM local time.
