Mauro Corsetti takes day 1b and the overall lead of EPT Budapest

Total of 532 players started the main event of EPT Budapest and after both parts of the first day of the event 182 of them are still in the competition. Italian Mauro Corsetti (picture) leads the group and winner of the day 1a Annette Obrestad lies in second place.
Many famous players busted out during the day 1b, including recent WPT winner Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier, Dario Minieri, Noah Boeken and Max Pescatori. Familiar players who are still in the tournament includes names like Kara Scott, Johnny Lodden and William Thorson.
Johnny Lodden showed some crazy moves during the day 1b. In one hand he was forced to call all-in with 8-7 against AQ, when his re-raise was answered by all-in move of his opponent and he was pot committed. Lodden got lucky and hit his eight for busting his opponent. AQ was apparently bad hand against Lodden, as he won another hand against that particular hand, this time with the worst hand of the game, 7-2.

It is still a long way until the 56 players who will collect any prizes are decided. Winner of EPT Budapest will collect €595,839. The action of the day 2 has just started and tomorrow we will report about the tournament again.
