The Kahnawake Gaming comission have been researching a superuser scandal of one of its licensee, Ultimate Bet, where cheating took place for 3½ years. The superusers have gained a huge amount of other players money by cheating, but the exact amount is still not known for sure.

The main suspect have now revealed as Russ Hamilton, a former World Series of Poker Main Event winner, and who was formerly associated with Ultimate Bet’s affiliate program. It is also understood that Hamilton is not the only individual involved and new names should pop out when investigation continues.

The comission has imposed six sanctions to Ultimate Bet. Following four sanctions are maybe the most interesting ones:

  • By November 3, 2008 Ultimate Bet shall begin refunding all players adversely affected by the cheating scheme. The company has refunded $6.1 million to date, but this summer received another round of refund requests.
  • By November 3, 2008 Ultimate Bet shall remove from the company all persons deemed by the commission as “unsuitable,” including all levels of ownership, management and operation, and is required to continue to provide complete details of all day-to-day operations of the company.
  • $1.5M fine has been issued to Ultimate Bet by Kahnawake Gaming Comission.
  • Ultimate Bet’s failure to comply fully with these measures will result in the immediate revocation of its KGC gaming permit.
