Finnish gambler Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies has been playing very well recently and was already up over $370k this month!
Earlier today Phil Ivey made a very rare appearance at one of his own tables - at the Ivey Thunderdome $500/1000 PLO to challenge the crazy Finn Ilari Sahamies. This encounter promised to be a very interesting one…
It took only 11 hands for the Scandinavian to take the first $100k off his opponent when Ivey’s pocket aces were not enough for his opponent’s flopped 2 pair:

Ziigmund continued to dominate the session, taking away a number of pots by pure aggression. At one point five $40k+ pots were played in a row, with Ziigmund winning 4 of them.
Phil Ivey of course allways is confident with is skills and continued rebuying trying to win his money back… but a combination of some poor plays and a bad run of cards meant that the Finn would take down 6 of the 7 biggest pots of the match and pocket $400.000 in the process.
Another key hand occurred when Ivey pushed on the turn with bottom two pair and a flush draw, only to find his opponent pushing all in with top two pair:

Ziigmund then ended their first session with a $400k stack!!!
Ivey would return a few minutes later with another $100k, only to loose it all again, and Sahamies left the tables with a sweet $400k profit.
