“It’s gonna be all over babyyyy!” - those were Scotty Nguyens last words before putting his opponent Michael DeMichele all-in in the last hand of the tournament.

Scotty Nguyen known for his WSOP main event win in 1998 and for winning 3 different WPT tournaments. This was his 5th WSOP-bracelet and puts him close to $10 million in tournament winnings.
He also was the chipleader in last years main event when there was 12 players left - unfortunately all went wrong from there on and he finished the tournament with a dissapointing 11th place. Now this win will wipe out the bad memories that he has suffered from that tournament.
The final table lasted for an amazing 13 hours and at one point the three players left had almost equal stack. Erick Lindgren was the short stack for a very long time and managed to fight his way back into the competition for the first price.
Micheal DeMichele was leading the tournament for a long time - the name not so familiar with the public. He is only 24-years old but already made his mark on the poker scene. Playing mostly live cashgames but also booked a 4th place finish in this years $10.000 Mixed Holdem event and third place in the 2006 U.S. Poker Championships.
With his third place finish Erick Lindgen now takes the lead in the WSOP player of the year race!
Final results:
- Scotty Nguyen - $1,989,120
- Michael DeMichele - $1,243,200
- Erick Lindgren - $781,440
- Matt Glantz - $568,320
- Lyle Berman - $444,000
- Barry Greenstein - $355,200
