I won $2.000 but lost $4.000 at the same time?

How is that possible you might ask? And I asked that very same question when my friends first explained me a few things about rake…
I started to play a lot (and I mean a lot!) in the beginning of January, mostly shorthanded games - limit $3/6-5/10 and NL $100-400. I could easily play 8-10h/day, winning some and losing some. But making a small profit all the time, then I bought also myself the Pokertracker and started to gather some data from my games.
I noticed some pretty interesting things - like that I could pay as much as $250 rake in one single day.. no wonder the poker sites are running pretty strongly! During February-April I paid about $12.000 in rake! At the same time I won $2.000 from poker.
I played mostly at the Betfair and at Sun Poker. The most annoing thing was that at that time I knew nothing about rakeback! And then I got to know that you can get rakeback on most of the poker sites!
Now I earned a measily $667/month from grinding full time - with a normal rakeback I could have earned $1.333/month more! So topping up my winning to $2.000 for a month! ..so basically tripling up my earnings!
Still following me? So basically if you sign up thru some good affliate (like HighStakesNews) you will get some of the rake you are paying to the poker sites back to you! Normal deal can be that you will get 30% back of the total amount of rake you are paying.
Basically if you consider for example playing at the Full Tilt Poker and go to their own website and create an account you are paying the complete rake - BUT if you sign thru HighStakesNews you will automatically get 27% of that rake back each month!
